THE UNFASHIONABLE HUMAN BODIES
Installation
Knitting fabrics, balloons
in Kobe, Japan, 2019, and in Finland, Jokioinen 2020.

The natural shape of the human body has been considered unfashionable throughout the history of fashion. Both female and male bodies have been altered: breasts and buttocks have been lifted, trousers have been pressed to straighten the legs, and feet have been forced to become smaller by binding them, among other practices. Nowadays, it is even possible to reshape the body using silicone from the inside. We choose clothing to disguise or enhance unsatisfactory body parts. This is my unconventional take on body shaping.
