Little Voyage of Discovery

The balls are embroidered by combining the traditional Finnish woolen ball technique with the Japanese temari technique. The temari technique incorporates the North Pole, South Pole, and Equator on the ball, creating the impression of traveling around the Earth during the embroidery process. Happiness is portrayed differently in various locations. In these artworks, multiple globes are depicted, but in reality, there is only one.
